PostSubject: 226 brush - is it worth it?   226 brush - is it worth it? EmptyThu Mar 12, 2009 8:17 am

I didn't want to send the other brush thread OT but wanted to ask what people thought of the limited edition 226 brush. Sam, I think you mentioned that you have it, what do think to it?

I think it came out with the BBR collection and I think it's sold out in a lot of places. I'm trying to get a good collection of brushes together and wondered if it was a must have or whether others from the permanent line are better.

Thanks in advance! Smile

ETA. Edited because I put the wrong number down to start with. Embarassed

The small angle brush? I love it. I use that one specifically for brows and leave the 208, which is also an angled brush but wider for powdered eyeshadow and mixing medium.

Ther 209 and 210 I use for gel or liquid liners like fluid line.

I get brush obsessed though. I love them. On Sam's recommendation, I recently ordered some Louise Young and I'm just waiting over here in the States for their arrival.

MAC has some good ones, and Shu Uemura as well. They can get very pricey very fast.

Hope this helps.

You mean the 226.
I dont love it. it is nowhere near the greatness of the old 224.

Ahhhhhhhh, the 226.

I agree the 224 is classic, and a must have.

But you know what I've found the 226 good for? Women who dont have a very pronounced crease or a small space between the upper lash line and brown bone....the 226 has worked well for me for cutting a crease.

Alas, not all of us are blessed with all the lid space Sam has....

I wish.

D'oh! Yes, I do mean the 226, I realised I'd written the wrong number when I was putting the boys to bed lol!

Mari, you've given me the perfect answer too. I am really struggling with application on my crease as I seem to have a small amount of 'space'. I end up messing it up and putting too much on. I was wondering about getting a pencil brush but then saw the 226.

I really do need to invest in a good crease brush.

Then the 226 might work pretty well for you. Then just use a 217 or 224 to blend out the crease so it fades really well.

Try it out and let me know how it works for you.

I heard that the 226 was going to be re-released for a short time this summer. Anyone else heard those rumors? Is it true?

It is being re released for a short period as part of the Colour Craft collection in July 2009 (that's the release date in the states, so I imagine it would be a month later?) Strip
