Hi Marilyn,

Not really. You are probably best to try to find a working artist and ask if you can assist.

Nic and I are running two 5 day workshops. One in July and one in August but they will take place in Norwich.

Thank you for the advice, I will have a look!
Is there any chance you could tell us more about these workshops, such as fees?

thank you Dance

As soon as we have found a venue and put together our costs we will be sure to let you know. I am hoping to keep it at the same price that I charge now for a 5 day which is £950

We issue a Certificate of achievement. The certificate will get you insurance and can be used as one piece of the id required (2 needed) for MAC industry discount.
Unfortunately, there is no formal qualification for any 1 week course.

So I'm a tad late on replying, lol..

I'm also in the North of England, it takes me 4 hours to get to Leeds via train. ;p

I'm looking at taking a 14 week makeup course in London at the Delamar Academy, the cost is £8342.50 and it provides you with a full kit, brushes and books. However trying to find the money & accommodation for that length of time I'm sure is going to be rather difficult.

I've looked a lot for makeup courses in the North and haven't found many and the one I have found at Delamar is one of the cheapest I've come across. I came across one that for a couple months wanted about £15,000. - Toooo expensive!

However if you do find anything, I'd really appreciate it if you'd let me know. (:

I want to make you aware that you probably wont make much money in your first year or two as an MUA so if you are paying that much money for a course be sure that you can totally afford it.

Have you thought about contacting your local college to see if they run any beauty courses? My local college runs full time or part time course and the cost is quite reasonable and it looks like you will get a qualification at the end too.

I've asked for some details on what the course contains and I'll re-post here to give you an idea, but I'm sure it would be a good foundation from which to work from.

My end goal is to attend either Nic and Sam's one on one course of the group of 16 ones but that'll be in a while yet.

What is the other kind if ID that you require to get the MAC discount? Is it like a business card or something like that or do you have to have gone on two courses?
